My dog just finished an 8 week B&T program for my reactive pitbull mix. I was very nervous to send her off for training, as I have read horror stories about bad B&T experiences and how they can have negative impacts on reactive dogs. However, I realized my dog had become a huge liability and I did not have the knowledge or time to train her myself. During my initial consultation, Ron explained that he would primarily work to build my dog’s confidence, rather than using fear and aversion, as my dog’s reactivity was due to fear and not aggression.

I am relieved to say that we had a great experience. I can tell she was treated well in Ron’s care, as she was her same sweet self as soon as she returned, and did not seem in any way fearful or timid around Ron. Most importantly though, reactivity so far has been much improved, and when she does start to get over excited I am easily able to stop it. I also really appreciate how honest Ron was about my dog’s limitations. She will never be a golden retriever and will likely always need to be closely monitored, but I feel I have much more control of her. Finally, I have peace of mind knowing that if I have any questions or issues, I can always text Ron or set up a follow up training to ease my concerns.

It is a big financial commitment, but it was worth it for my family.
